Khadirarishta is Ayurveda herbal preparation used for various skin diseases such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, etc. It is mainly beneficial in diseases in which itching is main symptom. It is considered as a blood purifier and detoxifies body channels. Allergic reactions of skin on exposure to dust and similar allergens may also be effectively treated with this medicine.

Main Ingredients of Khadirarishta 

Acacia catechu, Cedrus deodara, Psoralea corylifolia and Berberis aristata are main ingredients of Khadirarishta. These ingredients offer blood purifier action and beneficial in skin diseases. Other ingredients are Woodforia fruticosa, Piper cubeba, Mesua ferrea, Myristica fragrans, clove, cardamom etc. These ingredients help to increase efficacy and bioavailability of main ingredients of Khadirarishta.

Ayurveda Pharmacological action of Khadirarishta 

Pharmacological action of Khadirarishta depends on four main ingredients Acacia catechu, Cedrus deodara, Psoralea corylifolia and Berberis aristata. These are blood purifier and improve skin texture and color. These ingredients provide glow to face and also useful in acne or pimples. As per Ayurveda, Khadirarishta pacifies all three humors. 

All types of skin diseases are caused by imbalance and aggravation in these three humors, so Khadirarishtam is generally the Ayurveda product of choice for all types of skin diseases. It helps to reduce itching and soothes skin.

Khadirarishta has been considered to have property of detoxification. It detoxifies the body and assists in excretion of accumulated toxins from the body by enhancing liver functions. Moreover, it has some ingredients, which help to protect liver, and repair damaged liver cells. It may offer cleansing action in liver and spleen. 

Also helps with worms, infestation, cough spleenomegaly and distention of abdomen. Can be helpful in anaemia and lymph gland enlargement.

Khadirarishta has shown anti-bacterial action as well. Especially, it is used in the Ayurveda treatment of helicobacter bacteria. This bacterium is responsible for ulcer. Khadirarishta does not directly work on ulcer but by assisting in reducing helicobacter bacteria, it becomes beneficial in this disease. However, other remedies are also necessary to treat the disease completely.

There is no side effects mentioned in Ayurveda texts or reported by clients as such from prescribed therapeutic dosage of this preparation. It is advisable that Ayurveda medicine and treatment are generally considered to be safe when taken under the supervision and guidance of a Qualified and Registered Ayurveda Doctor, but rarely may be associated with possible adverse reactions in individual cases.
