Ayurveda: The Ancient Science of Health and Wellness

When you visit an Ayurveda clinic, the one major difference that you will feel is that there is no "one size fits all" approach in this Ayurveda healing methodology. Every individual is different and unique and has a specific balance/equilibrium that makes their systems work. Therefore, to rectify any imbalance in their body, it is important first to understand the state of equilibrium that the patient needs to achieve to regain health and wellness. This is known as understanding the patient's Prakriti.

The individual's Prakriti is also affected by the environmental factors that they are exposed to. This would include the geography of the region where they live, their surroundings, the weather, their home environment and its condition, working habits and living space, food and water that they consume and the overall state of happiness they experience. All these physical and psychological factors affect a person's equilibrium and will eventually lead them towards either an improved or declined state of health.

Dosha imbalances (your vikruti, or current condition) can manifest in various stages, from a general feeling of "something is not right" to diagnosed illnesses with serious complications. To address this and whatever the Ayurveda treatment is considered, the goal is to reestablish your natural balance of vata, pitta, and kapha. Through ayurvedic herbs, lifestyle changes, habit establishment, meditation and more, this treatment modality attempts to take the patient back towards their natural state of being.
